"Yellow Fields" was painted entirely in soft pastel on a sunny day in Kansas. This field lies just below a lake
dam and was covered with yellow flowers. While my husband was hitting a couple buckets of golf balls at a nearby golf
course, I spent time painting. The perfect marriage!

I passed this farm field for a couple years on my commute into Kansas City for work each day. My eyes were always
drawn to the hillside. I finally made the decision to stop and paint it, and though the winds nearly blew me away, I
captured the ripe wheat field quickly. The next day, the field was harvested and it hasn't been planted since.

A HOT August day in humid Missouri wasn't the ideal day for painting outside...but ten other artists and I had gathered
at a fellow artists home for a painting day. The field caught my eye and the colors were so vivid! The humidity
added to the "blueing" of the distant hills.

A wonderful, October day in Kansas! This beautiful, wooded lane is hidden at the far edge of a farmer's field.
The variety of trees and grasses added a mix of fall colors. One of my favorites!
